The Mighty Chobe

The Chobe area is an area defined by a monumental park and the giant Chobe River. It is however, most known for the massive elephant population in the area. Over 70,000 elephants live in the area, and this population is growing. The area is also home to large populations of buffalo, giraffe, lion, and leopard. For game viewing, Chobe is fantastic. Chobe can be visited year-round; however it can get quite hot during the peak summer months from December through to February. This is also the rainy season. Game viewing is good year-round.
