Best Mana Pools Safaris in Zimbabwe
Mana Pools is a tranquil and iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site located to the north east of Lake Kariba in Zim,babwe. It’s a mysterious place and truly beautiful in and old earthy way. The area in fact marks the beginning of the Great Rift Valley, and this is evident with the markings of emblematic rock formations amid a truly lush ecosystem.
Mana Pools is in fact considered to be the best safari destination in Zimbabwe owing to its lush flora and fauna, and the striking natural features. The area also has the best lodges in all of Zimbabwe. Add to this the fact that there is a healthy Wild Dog population, and you have a recipe for an excellent safari.
This is also a bird lovers paradise and a number of rare birds make this destination their home, including the African Skimmer and Lilian’s lovebird.
Elephants are also a key feature of this area, as are the numerous hippos and crocodiles that lounge on the banks of the Zambezi River. Mana Pools also has a healthy lion population towards its southern boundaries.
Getting into and out of Mana Pools is not an easy task by road, and we recommend fly ins to the lodges which can be easily arranged from Victoria Falls, or any number of other airports in Zimbabwe. There are also transfers from Lake Kariba by boat to a number of lodge options in the area.
