Chiefs Camp

Chief’s Camp sits on the northwestern tip of Chief’s Island, within the exclusive Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve — an area famously dubbed the “predator capital” of Africa for its exceptional year-round game viewing. The camp benefits from a rare combination of permanent Okavango wetland and dry, game-rich island terrain, giving guests access to both classic delta activities and outstanding big-cat sightings.

Accommodation comprises 10 spacious Bush Pavilions, each with a four-poster bed, indoor and outdoor showers, a private plunge pool, and a game-viewing deck overlooking the floodplain. A two-pavilion Geoffrey Kent Suite sleeps up to 6 guests and comes with a dedicated guide, private chef, waiter and housekeeper, bringing the camp’s total capacity to 24 guests.

Mombo’s concession is renowned for its predator density, with excellent chances of viewing lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog alongside large herds of buffalo, elephant and general plains game. Seasonal flooding, typically peaking around June and July and lasting four to five months, transforms the surrounding floodplains and draws wildlife into concentrated areas close to camp.

Game drives run year-round, complemented by guided walks. The camp has its own private airstrip roughly 2km away, licensed for aircraft up to 5,700kg, with a 20kg luggage limit per person on light aircraft transfers.
