Chitabe Camp belongs to the Wilderness Safaris portfolio and is a tasteful and personalized tented camp located in a superb location on the South eastern side of the Okavango Delta. Eight large and comfortably decorated tented rooms with en-suite bathrooms and outdoor showers are connected to the communal area with raised platforms reminiscent of an ewoks village. The overall ambiance of the camp is relaxed and tranquil, a home away from home in the heart of the wonderous delta.
The communal area consists of an open thatched dinning are with lounge and bar. Decking leads out to raised decks that provide spectacular views across the surrounding plains, and elephants and hippos can be seen each afternoon sauntering past the front of the camp. A swimming pool also provides a welcome respite from the midday sun.

Personal Thoughts on Chitabe
Chitabe is one of the Okavango Delta’s most respected wildlife camps, with roughly three decades of history in the private Chitabe Concession bordering Moremi Game Reserve. It’s run by Wilderness Safaris, one of the most established operators in the Delta, and they’ve recently given the camp a full, sustainably-minded rebuild — so it manages to feel both timeless and fresh at once. In my opinion, this is the camp to recommend to anyone who wants predator action above all else: it’s consistently one of the best spots in Africa for wild dog sightings, and the resident cheetah population (including a famous mother nicknamed “Supermom”) is a real drawcard too. One thing to flag for families: Chitabe itself only accepts children 6 and older and doesn’t have a family room — if you’re travelling with younger kids, their sister camp Chitabe Lediba is the better fit.
