Elela

Elela is an exclusive new safari lodge from the award-winning Singita collection, set to open in December 2026 as Singita’s first property in Botswana. Located on NG26, the former Abu Concession, in the northwestern Okavango Delta, Elela sits within approximately 170,000 hectares of private wilderness bordering the floodplains of the Jao Reserve.

The name Elela means “to flow” in Setswana, a fitting description for a lodge designed in harmony with the seasonality of the Delta. Elela comprises eight individual circular, stilted camps, ranging from intimate one-bedroom retreats to a spacious four-bedroom camp for families and groups, each offering panoramic views of shifting floodplains and roaming wildlife.

Each self-contained camp includes a lounge, dining area and kitchenette, along with a private pool, firepit and deck, and comes with its own private vehicle, guide, tracker and dedicated Camp Manager. A central hub offers indoor and outdoor dining, a fitness centre, a conservation lounge and the regional campus of the Singita Community Culinary School for guests who wish to gather.

The surrounding landscape is characterised by winding channels, palm-fringed islands and seasonal floodplains, supporting excellent year-round game drives along with seasonal boating and mokoro excursions. Activities also include bush walks, fishing, wine tastings, stargazing, yoga, wellness treatments and scenic helicopter flights over the Delta.
