Kanana Nyana is an intimate new luxury safari camp overlooking the Xudum River, set within the game-rich Pom Pom Concession (NG27A) in the western Okavango Delta, bordering the iconic Moremi Game Reserve. Opening its doors in October 2026, it is the newest camp from Ker & Downey Botswana and the most exclusive in their portfolio, offering a refined, intimate safari experience for a maximum of just eight guests.
The camp comprises four individually styled, thatched safari suites, each with generous indoor and outdoor living space and a private plunge pool. The design draws on the surrounding woodland and floodplains, with natural colours and textures creating a calm, understated atmosphere. Central guest areas are open and informal, with distinct spaces for dining, lounging and taking in sweeping views across the Xudum floodplains, alongside a small gym and in-room wellness treatments.
Set among seasonal islands, palms, fig trees and ancient ebony, the Kanana Nyana area is known for its excellent predator viewing, with lion, leopard, wild dog and hyena all regularly encountered, along with large elephant herds and prolific birdlife including seasonal heronries. Water levels vary seasonally, with boating and mokoro excursions typically available from May to July when the floodwaters arrive.
Activities are kept exclusive, with a maximum of four guests per vehicle. Guests can enjoy game drives, night drives, walking safaris, boating, mokoro trips and fishing, all led by experienced guides in one of the Delta’s most rewarding and low-density wildlife areas.
