Khwai Leadwood

Khwai Leadwood is an intimate tented camp set in the Khwai Community Concession (NG19) in the eastern Okavango Delta, overlooking a scenic lagoon along the Khwai River and bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. With just seven tented rooms, this classic and friendly camp offers a genuinely authentic, good-value safari experience.

Accommodation comprises five standard luxury tented rooms, one tented family unit and one tented honeymoon suite, each with a raised deck overlooking the floodplain or lagoon and an en-suite bathroom. The camp uses light tented materials throughout and has a relaxed, down-to-earth feel, with a welcoming main area, swimming pool and comfortable spots to relax between activities.

The Khwai River is the first permanent water source reached by wildlife moving south from the Chobe and Linyanti reserves, drawing large and varied numbers of animals year-round. Elephant, plains game and predators including lion, leopard and wild dog are regularly seen, while the surrounding lagoons and lily-covered channels attract a rich variety of birdlife.

Activities are centred on morning, afternoon and night game drives, with walking safaris and seasonal mokoro rides available for guests aged 16 and above. Cultural visits to the local Khwai village can also be arranged. The camp is open year-round and welcomes children of all ages.
