Matetsi Lodge is one of the most exclusive lodge offerings in Zimbabwe and offers a luxurious safari experience close to the iconic Victoria Falls. There are two separate accommodation options, or camps with a sole use villa camp to the north and nice exclusive suites making up the camp to the south. Both camp options are very comfortable, and the only difference is that the villa, with four large rooms, caters to a larger or more private group.
The lodge is set on a private concession and the wildlife offering is immense. There are also great views over the Zambezi River from both riverside camps.
Each of the suites and the villa are tastefully decorated in an elegant style that includes handmade woven African fabrics, abstract artworks from renowned African artists, and lavish bathrooms with views over the river. Private infinity pools adjourn each of the rooms and jut out along the viewing deck, and these pools provide an excellent escape from the heat, and a great way to view game from the comfort of your own private watering hole.
The menu options are Matetsi are superb, and private chefs prepare daily menus tailormade to the gusto of each guest. A sommelier helps to select an excellent wine pairing for each of the meals from an exclusive collective of vintages in the Matetsi cellar.
The lodge has a number of activities including game drives, game walks, river cruises, canoeing, and helicopter rides over the Victoria Falls.
This camp is the perfect option for a luxury Victoria Falls getaway. We recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy the pristine side of Victoria Falls, while also keeping things exclusive and private. The lodge combines well with luxury options in Botswana such as Selinda Camp, and Mombo Camp, as well as Chinzombo Camp in South Luangwa in Zambia.
