Classic white tents perched on the shore of an enormous sparkling salt pan, each sheltered by a cluster of stately desert palms. Spectacular vistas, soothing and serene – pared down safari elegance with minimal ecological impact, it is the nothingness that attract. San Camp also runs almost entirely on solar energy, thus dramatically reducing the use of fossil fuels. The perfect place to relax, unwind and retreat.
San Camp offers 4 twin and 2 double tents with en-suite bathrooms and spacious veranda. Tents are spacious and stylish. Beds are replete with cool and crunchy cotton sheets, feather bedding and hot water bottles.
San Camp is open only for 6 months of the year during the dry season (16th of April to 15th of October).
Activities are varied, and combine wildlife with culture, history, archaeology and geology. Activities on offer all year round include: interacting with incredibly friendly habituated meerkats; walking with Bushmen Guides; game drives to experience unique desert wildlife, Chapman’s Baobab – one of the oldest and biggest trees in Africa, bird watching and night drives.

Personal Thought on San Camp
This is one of those iconic camps that really speaks volumes. It’s set up very much in the same way that Jack’s Camp is set up, but with slightly less eccentricity. It’s a serious camp, and it is seriously beautiful. It’s a calmer version of Jack’s in my opinion but with all of the same comforts.
