Setari Camp is set on a small tree-covered island in a private 160 square kilometre concession at the very heart of the Okavango Delta, near Jao Village and a short 25-minute flight from Maun. Surrounded by water year-round, the camp takes its name from the Setswana word for “tree”, a fitting nod to the tangled riverine forest and towering palms that shade the island.

Accommodating up to 20 guests, Setari offers nine light and airy tented suites plus one family suite, all raised on wooden decking and connected by winding boardwalks. Each tent enjoys sweeping private views across the floodplains, with an en-suite bathroom featuring both an indoor bath and an open-air shower.

Communal spaces continue the elevated, tree-house feel, with inviting dining, lounge and bar areas, a swimming pool with a view and a small gym, all linked by raised walkways above the wildlife roaming beneath. Wi-Fi is available throughout camp for guests who wish to stay connected.

With water present all year, Setari is a true water-wilderness destination, offering boating and mokoro excursions through lagoons and channels rich with hippo, crocodile and prolific birdlife, including the elusive Pel’s Fishing Owl. Guided walks, catch-and-release fishing and cultural visits to nearby Jao Village round out the experience, while drier months bring the chance to explore on foot even further.
