Tuludi

Tuludi is set within the Khwai Private Reserve, on the northern edge of the Okavango Delta, where the Khwai river feeds a landscape of floodplains, lily-covered lagoons and dense riverine forest. The name comes from the Setswana word for the markings of a leopard, held in high regard locally as distinctly “royal” — a fitting title for a camp shaded by the very leadwood trees that give leopards their dappled cover. Tuludi belongs to the Natural Selection portfolio.

The camp is built in treehouse style, raised on wooden platforms and linked by boardwalks that wind through the leadwood canopy. There are seven spacious tented suites — six twin/double rooms and one family suite — each with a private plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers, a bathtub, and a sunken veranda looking out over the floodplains.

The main area sits above a resident waterhole, with a raised lounge and handcrafted bar, a swimming pool, and a treehouse library perched four metres up in the branches. A firepit set slightly apart from the dining area is the spot for drinks and stories once the sun goes down.

Tuludi’s location gives it access to some of the best game viewing in the Delta, year-round. Elephant and buffalo move through in large herds, and the surrounding floodplains are known for consistently strong predator sightings — lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog are all regularly seen. Game drives, guided walks, mokoro and motorboat outings are all on offer, and for something different, Tuludi’s sister Skybeds treehouses lie a short helicopter ride further into the reserve for a night under the stars.
