Often described as Africa’s most luxurious lodge, Xigera Safari Lodge occupies a private island within Moremi Game Reserve, in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Rebuilt and reopened in December 2020, the lodge blends contemporary luxury with Africa’s largest private collection of contemporary art in a hospitality setting.
Accommodation comprises 12 suites in total: 11 standard suites, each 184m2 with private deck, indoor and outdoor showers, air conditioning and satellite TV, plus one family suite with two en-suite bedrooms sharing a lounge. A raised sleep-out platform, the Baobab Suite, offers an elevated night beneath the stars at an additional cost.
Moremi Game Reserve supports strong lion, leopard and wild dog populations alongside buffalo, lechwe and abundant birdlife, with African skimmers nesting at Xigera Lagoon between September and March.
Activities include motorboat and mokoro excursions, morning and afternoon game drives (water levels permitting), guided walking safaris, catch-and-release fishing (seasonal) and yoga sessions. As Xigera is within Moremi National Park, night drives are not offered. Scenic helicopter flights and spa treatments can be arranged at an additional cost. Xigera is open year-round and best suited to guests aged 12 and above, with mokoro and walking activities restricted to ages 13 and above.
