The destination has a number of incredibly family friendly lodges, and the Okavango culture of openness and a focus on family makes the destination the most appealing for visiting families. There are a number of great lodge options that accept kids. Please not that lodges that accept under 12s generally insist that a private game vehicle is necessary.
Best time of year is during school holidays obviously. This is generally from July through to September. It’s a great time of the year to visit Botswana as it is less hot, and the game viewing is slightly better. However, anytime of the year is good to visit Botswana, and it all depends on when the family is able to get away together.
