Yoga Safaris are growing in popularity. The mixture of wildlife and meditation combines perfectly in a yoga safari. Think of it as a spiritual safari retreat. We offer large group yoga experiences with qualified yoga instructors, and also individual or small group yoga safartis which are more personalized.

 

All of our Yoga Safaris take place in Botswana, and we focus on using lodges in the Okavango, Savuti, and also Chobe National Park.

Where and when to travel

Probably the best place for a Yoga Safari is in the Okavango Delta. The Okavango Delta is a vast floodplain. Its waters ebb and flow with the seasons. The waters of the delta are gentle and flowing, calm and still. Yoga is a practice which is encompasses flow. The flow of the breath, energy and the movement of the body, all connected as one. The bringing together of yoga and an environment such as the Okavango Delta, allows your practice to reach new heights of resonance, unifying you with wilderness in a deeper and more authentic way.

Best time of the year for a yoga safari? Well that depends on the type of person you are and what you are after. Low season, running from December to March is a good time for a yoga safari retreat as it’s quieter and gives you more time for reflection. It’s also cheaper which allows for long retreats. April to June is a great time in the Okavango as the flood waters bring a rush of life into the arterial network of the delta.
